Our sun is a star. Everyone knows that. No, they don't. There are people in remote areas of Earth who don't have a clue. People have believed the sun is a dragon with so much fire coming out of it's mouth that you can see only the fire. Many civilizations believed it was a bird since it flew through the sky. Many other ideas were and are still used to explain the sun.

Some people believed the sun sneaked backwards at night to begin it's trip across the sky the next day. Other people believed it was asleep at night and magically awakened each morning back where it started. People finally learned that the sun travels around the earth in a circle (wrong again). The Bible says in Psalms 19:6 that the sun goes from the end of the heaven (they assumed sky) and makes a circuit (round trip) to the ends of it.

We know today that the sun does not start at the edge of the sky and make a circuit around planet Earth. We have learned in recent history that Earth spins which makes it appear that the sun is moving. We also learned that Earth orbits around the sun once per year which makes summer and winter. These two discoveries convinced many  scientists that The Bible is wrong.

The scientists were wrong, not The Bible. Astronomers now believe our solar system with our sun as it's center is moving as unit through space at 600,000 miles per hour in an orbit so large it takes 200,000,000 years to go around. They also believe our complete Milky Way Galaxy is moving at high speed through the universe.

Maybe we'll learn more details in the future. The main point for now is another win for The Bible. The scientists were wrong, not The Bible. No error in The Bible.
