“But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives” (2 Peter 3:10-11)

71-year-old grandmother of twelve - registered nurse - certified teacher - licensed pastor - world traveler in her senior years -  shares the gospel in the world's more dangerous places - featured in "Charisma" magazine June/05 issue

Gwen prayed that God would send her to places where people have not heard about Jesus. God did. Her first trip was to Sweden in 1991. Interest in God had become very weak there. God miraculously taught her to speak Swedish and she preached the gospel to everyone who would listen. She believes "All people have a right - it's their birthright - to know their Creator."

Gwen's trips are medical missions with small groups of doctors and nurses such as a Baptist medical teams from Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisana and the "Rapid Response Team" featured on national TV. She also goes on many trips alone. She has prayed with thousands of people to receive Christ in more than 40 nations, including Iraq, Kurdistan, Russia, China, India, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Venezuela, and Haiti - literally all around the world.

Among these people was a voodoo priest who accepted Christ in 2000 and then brought 25 of his warlock friends to hear about Jesus. In 2003, Gwen saw him again. He was cleaned up and studying the Bible with other former warlocks.

Gwen constantly encourages people to reach out to the poorest of the poor in the world. Gwen went into a large prison in Brazil and men sentenced to life in prison for murder and their involvement in gang violence responded .

Gwen likes to use the "Jesus film" video (link below) and the evangelistic "Step Up to Life" booklet (link below). Each of these are available in many languages and present a simple understanding of CHRISTianity which is interesting enough that people then want to read The Bible.

In her every day life today, this grandma works a weekly mix of all shifts and up to 60 hours often with two shifts in one day and she witnesses to patients and teaches them about JESUS. She believes she is serving out her life's purpose by sharing the love of JESUS. Do you share everywhere you can?

Matthew 28:19 "Go then and make disciples of all the nations..."

Mark 13:10 "And the good news [the Gospel] must first be preached to all nations."

Acts 1:8 "...and you shall be My witnesses...to the ends of the earth."

These verses are about us plural as a group, but The Bible tells us all to help the poor, visit the sick and prisoners, etc. and to testify and witness to people wherever we go. I can do that. So can you.
